Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce


The Government Education Committee was formed in the summer of 2003 as a new area of focus for the chamber. Its first meeting was in September of 2003.

It was created to foster positive communication regarding many areas of government affairs in the community.


Service Information:

Time Frames:

Terms: There are term limits for service on the Government Education Team. The chairperson shall, on an annual basis, review group involvement to be sure that Gov't Ed Team is represented.

Meetings: The group meets monthly as needed. Its agenda is determined by political activity in the area and special projects which the group adopts.
Meetings are held at the chamber office. Meetings typically last less than one hour. Additional meetings are created by work on subcommittees or special projects on an "as needed basis."

Typical Tasks: Some examples of group work:

Candidate forums for council and school board
Voter Registration Campaigns
Creation of brochures to help people learn how to run for office
