An Committee of the
Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce
Leadership Watertown is a successful program created in the mid 1990's to address the issue of leadership within the many boards and committees of the community. At that time it was noted that a number of long serving citizens were retiring and the question arose "Who will lead the people of Watertown into the future?"
The chamber was strongly supported in its effort to organize a leadership program. The result of those early efforts is a strong, self sufficient program which networks well in the community.
Leadership Watertown is governed by a separate board which reports to the full board of the chamber regularly. It has a complete set of bylaws. Much of its operation is overseen by the Executive Director of the chamber. It has an operating budget and has income and expense lines on the full operating budget of the chamber. It was originated as a source of non dues revenue.
