Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce
The Membership Development Team was created in 2003 as a new area of focus for the chamber. Its first meeting was in December of 2003.
It was created to foster positive communication with existing members. It can be thought of as "Service after the Sale." Team members mentor new chamber members during their first year of membership. They also survey existing members regarding chamber programs.
Membership Team members occasionally make sales calls and they take active roles in chamber events such as the Golf Outing and Riverfest Booth.

Time Frames:
Terms: There are term limits for service on the Membership Development Team. The chairperson shall, on an annual basis, review group involvement to be sure that the Team is representing the Chamber in all possible ways.
Meetings: The group meets monthly at the chamber office. Its agenda is determined by new member activity and the renewal lists provided by the chamber staff. Meetings typically last less than one hour.
Typical Tasks: Some examples of group work:
Quarterly telephone calls to assigned list
Monthly work on renewal surveys
Assistance with special chamber projects like the Membership Blitz, Golf Outing, and Riverfest Booth.
