Chamber Membership
Founded in 1920, the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce has served the community for over 85 years. Today we have nearly 350 members who combine efforts to provide an active Chamber of Commerce to serve as a voice for business and also to serve as a resource for residents and visitors alike. The chamber office is also the contact point for the Watertown Promotive Corporation, a business recruitment organization established by chamber members in 1945.

While we have chosen to locate in a charming Victorian building, our programs and efforts are designed to look forward. To help members address current issues the chamber provides special courses through its relationship with the local MATC campus as well as by hosting special speakers for breakfast and lunch gatherings. In addition the chamber works to foster partnerships between education, business, industry and local government. From Wage and Benefit surveys to economic profiles to a highly successful gift certificate program, the Chamber strives to promote economic development in Watertown.

Leadership Watertown was created to help area residents and chamber members prepare for local service in civic groups and also serves as a resource for those who wish to seek office. Candidate forums also help members and citizens to study local election issues and candidates.

Chamber members network and relax by participating in chamber functions: Business After Hours, State of the Community Luncheon, a golf outing, and the Annual Dinner meeting.

The chamber helps to encourage community spirit by helping to promote many community events such as Riverfest, a weekly Farm Market, Halloween/Autumn events, Holiday parade, and countless presentations by local civic groups.

One thing is certain: it won’t take you long to understand why the chamber adopted the slogan “We like it here.” We know that you will like it here as well.
