The morning willfocus on high school students looking for part‐time/seasonal, apprenticeships, and career‐path opportunities as well asveterans. All high schools in area will be attending. The remainder of the day will be open to the general public. Job seekers areencouraged to bring their polished resumes.The event is seeking employers hiring in 2016 for internships, apprenticeships, entry‐level, and professional‐grade positions.Employers can sign up at http://jcedcjobfair.eventbrite.com. Space is limited and is available to employers on a first come, firstserve basis. Registration for mid‐large sized businesses (+5 or more employees) is $75. Registration for small sized businesses(5 or less) is $50. For small businesses wanting to post open‐positions there will be a job board to post openings for free. This fair is critical inconnecting our employers to the workforce needed. Recruitment and retention of quality workforce has been the number oneissue heard from area companies.”“With unemployment rates wavering between 3‐5% in our area we are nearing max employment for the workforce,” notesBenjamin Wehmeier, Jefferson County Administrator. “This job fair aims to connect more highly‐skilled workers to the positionsthey seek in our area.”The JCEDC is asking area partners to help get the word out about the event to area employers and job seekers. Flyers fordistribution can be downloaded at: http://jcedc.net/businesssolutions/jobfair.phpAll proceeds from the event will be used for marketing of the event to recruit job seekers from both within Jefferson County butalso its environs surrounding the area as well. Networking with employers will also be encouraged at booths.The event will be at the Creamery Building in Fort Atkinson (201 N Main St, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538) on the second and thirdfloors. Dedicated parking has been set aside for the event ‐ attendees are asked to park in City Lot 4 on the corner of Sherman& Main Street in Fort Atkinson so that there is not strain placed on downtown businesses with their customers and employees. The Consortium was formed in June 2003 to implement Jefferson’s Overall Economic Development Programand to achieve the economic development goals of the County.
