ALL DAY
2016-06-10 00:00:00 2016-06-10 01:00:00 America/Chicago Community Action Day / Storybook Trail What is a storybook trail? The Friends of the Watertown Public Library and the 2015-2016 Leadership Watertown class is creating a Storybook Trail at Brandt Quirk Park to offer a unique approach to reading. In collaboration with our community partners, the Storybook Trail provides a new outdoor adventure that champions family connection, early childhood development, and health and wellness. Stories are handpicked by library staff with a child’s enjoyment in mind. Pages are posted at several stations along a trail, allowing families and friends to enjoy a story as they walk the path and take in the scenery. The inaugural story will be written by a Watertown High School student and the trail will be maintained by the Friends of the Library. A page or two of a book is kept in a custom post that allows for pages to be changed out so the fun continues year-round.  Brandt Quirk Park Jacob Maas (Volunteers Needed!) jacobm@cityofwatertown.org
