Process Development Technician

As a Process Development Technician you are responsible for various aspects of new systems, projects, enhancements and development to support the operations of Fisher Barton. You will do this by: • Implementating systems within the various divisions of Fisher Barton • Assisting with the preparation of business cases and capital requests for manufacturing projects • Assisting with managing the scope, schedule and budget for capex and ongoing projects • Working with machine suppliers and Fisher Barton divisions on various projects • Constructing custom machinery and processes for internal use • Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying key areas for improvement • Providing technical assistance to troubleshoot existing processes within the Fisher Barton The above statements are intended only to describe the general nature of the job and should not be construed as an all-inclusive list of position responsibilities. You are the kind of person who has: • Great communication skills in written and verbal form • Engaging presentation skills • Solid interpersonal and team skills at all levels of the organization. • Been able to work on multi projects at the same time with competing priorities • The ability to manage confidential information • Strong analytical and technical skills. • Strong time management skills and ability to work under strict deadlines. • The ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 + years’ experience in custom fabrication • 3+ years’ experience or more with metals manufacturing processes, equipment, and capabilities (stamping, heat treating, thermal spray coatings, welding, machining, grinding) • Experience in the design, selection, and implementation of manufacturing systems • Proficient with reading blueprints • Experience in one or more metals manufacturing processes, equipment and capabilities, i.e. stamping, heat treating, thermal spray coatings, welding, machining and grinding • Competent in various fabrication techniques including welding, press brake, manual machining, painting, etc. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in Lockout/tagout and other machine operation safety standards • Experience with industrial Electrical Wiring • Experience with in-process monitoring and controls • Experience with metal working preferred Travel Required: • As needed within these locations: Watertown, WI – Waukesha, WI – Sun Prairie, WI and Rockford, IL Physical | Visual Demands: As needed • Weight amount that would need to be lifted, pushed or pulled: Up to 50 pounds • Sit, Stand, Walk Talk/Hear, Use Hands, Climb/Balance, Stoop/Kneel/Croouch or Crawl, Reach with Hands and Arms • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more) • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a give point) • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships) • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring in an object into sharp focus) Work Environment: • Quiet (Examples: library, private office) • Moderate (Examples: business office with typewriters and/or computer printers, light traffic) • Loud (Examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth moving equipment) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
