The Watertown Main Street Program and the Watertown Arts Council are work together to create the Art on Main banner project. The addition of beautiful artwork on Main Street adds a new dimension and interest to Main Street. These one-of-a-kind banners will be hung from the lamp posts on Main Street throughout the summer.
A walking tour guide will be available in late spring from the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce/Main Street office located at 519 E. Main Street. The brochure will show the banners with a brief description of the artwork, the name of the artist, and project sponsors. In addition, there is a ballot in the walking tour guide which will allow you to vote for your favorites. There are 2 divisions, Adult and Youth. There are 4 winners in each division. Completed ballots may be dropped off at the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce office, 519 E Main Street or at Wepco Printing, 108 S 6th Street.
The banners will be sold at auction in October at the Lyons Irish Pub. The proceeds of the auction will be used to continue the “Art On Main” project in the future.
