I was born in Neenah, Wisconsin but shortly after my family moved to Illinois. I was raised in Illinois, living in Streamwood, Schaumburg and Elgin. I have one sister. My mom was an elementary school teacher and my dad was employed at Johnson Controls. While I spent my childhood in Illinois I have always been a Green Bay Packer fan. Living in Bear territory as a Packer Fan was not easy.
I graduated college from UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I taught Kindergarten and 3rd grade in Illinois. When the district had a huge lay off I made the decision to return to Wisconsin to Watertown.
My first official employment in Watertown was at Balistreri’s Welcome Inn Restaurant in the basement of the current Econo Lodge while I was in college. After moving to Watertown as an adult I was employed by Waterloo and Johnson Creek School Districts. I have been in my current position at Big Brothers Big Sisters for twenty-one years. I started out part-time while still employed at Johnson Creek.
I am not married but currently live with my boyfriend, John. I do not have any children of my own but consider my three nephews; Robert, Connor and Carter as my own. My sister, Heidi and my dad, Augie are a very important part of my life, family comes first.
John and I love to travel. One of my most memorable trips was to England with my mom when I graduated from college. I enjoy gardening, reading, watching the Green Bay Packers and spending time with family.
