Jennifer Mueller, the new president of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, is the seventh woman to hold that position. Last Monday's press release stated she was the first woman to hold that post in the 97-year history of the organization. The six other women who have held the presidency over the years are Karen Haagensen, Karen Melcher, Laurie Steger, Pat Sukow, Bonnie Zabel and Jamie Jaeger. We deeply regret the oversight and apologize to those who formerly held the presidency.
We are excited to announce our Digital Media Workshop Series in partnership with the Digital Media Lab. The Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce is offering such an informative series for FREE to our chamber members. It's our way of adding value to your membership.
* All attendees of the Digital Insights Seminar will receive a FREE Digital Audit Report. The Digital Audit Report is an assessment of the online visibility of your business. The report measures the accuracy and "findability" of your website, social media and business listings with helpful tips for improvement.
Start Up Watertown, a partnership between the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce and a group of dedicated business professionals is launching a 12-week mentoring program beginning on Tuesday, September 26 at the City of Watertown Incubator building, 1101 Industrial Drive. The sessions are from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. This is your chance to get the business idea that has been rattling around in your head, out in front of a supportive community.
Start Up Watertown is a combination of business development processes, entrepreneurs, and business experts, designed to nurture potential businesses by helping them to develop a business feasibility plan. Our hope is that by the end of the 12 week program, attendees will have a better understanding of business operations, and a defined path to pursue their business venture. If one new business is started, we will consider the program a success.
