Maureen Moreno began her career in Watertown in 1993 at the Market on Water Street, when she owned a gift basket store that had an emphasis on corporate arrangements.  After two years, Maureen closed the store to pursue an office position.  In 2011, Maureen was ready for a change in her career and has happily been in her current location since September of 2014.

Elegant Arrangements by Maureen, LLC is a florist and gourmet food gift basket shop.  Maureen provides a variety of floral designs for any occasion and is happy to customize designs for her customers.  She loves working with brides and considers it an honor to be a part of a couple's special day. Wedding consultations are by appointment and can be set up by email or calling the shop.

Interestingly enough, Maureen states that most of her business comes from out of town via her website.  Maureen has a focus on contemporary design and follows the trends of florists from around the world including England and Sweden for her inspiration.  All of Maureen’s designs are original and one of a kind as she views floristry as an art and it makes sense to her that not every arrangement is the same.

Everything on www.maureenselegantarrangements.com is her original design and there are no stock photos.  Maureen works with BloomNation (not FTD or TeleFlora) because she just loves the support they provide for the florists. By working with BloomNation, Maureen is able to contact the customer directly, unlike the other nationwide order gatherers.  She is currently working on a separate website for gift baskets and we can’t wait to see her creations!  

Maureen is a member of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce because she likes the connection to the businesses in Watertown and thinks it’s a great way to market her floral designs and Wisconsin made gift baskets.

The Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the 2017/2018 Leadership Watertown class!

Leadership Watertown is a tuition-based program offered by the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce to its members and their employees. The mission of Leadership Watertown is to develop a core group of dedicated leaders and educate them on the opportunities and needs of Watertown, with a focus on project management and leadership skills.

Leadership Watertown runs from August through May and is divided into two segments: class time and team project. Class time occurs each month and consists of a combination of speakers, tours and demonstrations that familiarize students with the community. The team project consists of a community service project selected by the Leadership Board.

Sergeant David Brower recognized

On Sunday, April 30, Calvary Baptist Church held its annual Blue & White Sunday. This Sunday is set aside each year to honor men and women who serve in law enforcement.

Special recognition was given to Sergeant David Brower during the Blue & White Service. Pastor Loggans read the nomination letter of Sergeant Brower written by Chief Roets highlighting the areas that Sergeant Brower has faithfully served in the Watertown Police Department. Sergeant Brower has served at the Watertown Police Department for 16 years. He has served on each patrol shift, as lead Detective, and most recently as Sergeant. Sergeant Brower has and still serves as a department instructor. 

The Annual Golf Outing is fast approaching!

Office Brochure Racks/Business Cards

Hundreds of people come to the chamber looking for goods and services.  With our office renovation, we have beautiful display racks for brochures and menus.  We also just got in our second business card holder.  Help us advertise for you in the office!

NEWS RELEASE MAY 2, 2017

PAVEMENT MARKING IN DOWNTOWN DISTRICT TO BEGIN

Beginning on May 8, 2017, the City of Watertown will begin removing and repainting pavement markings for parking stalls, crosswalks, street centerlines and symbols along Main Street between College Avenue and Church Street. The City has contracted with Century Fence Company, out of Pewaukee, WI, to complete the work.  The Contractor proposes to begin work at the intersection of E. Main Street and College Avenue and work west to Church Street, working in one lane at a time. The work will be done between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday to accommodate customers and businesses.  Each week work will begin at 12:00 a.m. Monday morning and finish by 5 a.m. Friday morning.

During the pavement painting, parking will be restricted on Main Street.  The City will place temporary NO PARKING signs in the area the Contractor will be working. The City is asking landlords and business owners to advise residential tenants of the upcoming parking restriction. Business owners and tenants should also be aware that the paint removal phase will create some noise.

The City of Watertown is having an epoxy coating placed, which has a longer life span than the existing water based paint, and an expected live expectancy of three to seven years.

The project is expected to last approximately four weeks.  If inclement weather continues, the project could exceed that timeline.  If any business has a special event taking place in the next two months, the Contractor is willing to accommodate that business as best it can and is willing to avoid that business on its special day.  Please contact Jay Haberkorn, City of Watertown Engineering Department, at 920-262-4047 to make arrangements.
