About us

Our Food

Icy cold beer and a tasty brandy old fashioned: Wisconsin's best at Donny's Girl Supper Club!

Donny’s Girl is a small, friendly supper club in the rural countryside of Pipersville, just five minutes southeast of Watertown, WI.

To begin your dining pleasure we offer selections from our full bar, complete with local craft beers, wines and Wisconsin's signature Brandy Old Fashioned cocktail, swirled with our very own blend of bitters.

We then offer a full menu of classic supper club cuisine, including steaks, prime rib, and family-style fish and chicken. All our dinners include our famous salad bar, soup, potato and bread.

And to complete your dinner on a sweet note, we offer a variety of homemade desserts specially prepared for the season or our always-popular ice cream drinks from the bar.

Our Accommodations

Donny’s Girl Supper Club offers an inviting bar and intimate dining atmosphere. Our traditional-style restaurant comfortably seats 105 guests. Our banquet room accommodates celebrations of up to 40 people.

Our History

As a very young child, my first memory of our restaurant was walking into the kitchen and seeing all the tall shelves and the very big stove—things I had never seen in a normal kitchen. I remember being amazed by the big dining room filled with tables and chairs.

A Restaurant with a Rich History

Donny and Sue, Donny's Supper Club, Watertown, WI

My parents, Donny and Sue Bartelt, bought the restaurant in 1982. It had long been a popular gathering place in this little community of Pipersville, previously going under the names of Chauncey’s, Hartung’s and McKenna’s Landing. For my parents, the restaurant was especially meaningful because way back in 1969, Donny proposed to Sue at this very bar.

During the 22 years my parents owned Donny’s Supper Club, they served their guests well. Locals and out-of-towners alike became family and over the years this loyal patronage were a meaningful part of my growing up.

In 2004, when I was just out of college and newly married, my parents sold their restaurant to an outside buyer. For a brief period, it took on a new name and ambiance, but by 2007 the business was once again for sale. My husband Lorn and I bought it immediately.

Carrying on a Tradition of Quality

Jaci and Brielle working together at Donny's Girl Supper Club

This restaurant has always been a part of my life. As a child, I made garlic toast with my dad in the kitchen. When I was old enough, I'd let myself out the kitchen door and sneak through the dining room to find my mother. Before long, I was carrying menus and waters to customers' tables.

Today, it’s the same for my 10-year-old daughter. Just as I had my own working shirt and skirt, my daughter has her own embroidered apron. She loves to carry waters and ask if people are doing okay. And just as the restaurant allowed me to be part of the special times in many people’s lives—birthdays, weddings and anniversaries—it will for my children as well.

Three generations of restaurateurs

So here we are—three generations of restaurateurs, inviting generations of guests to ‘come into our home and share a wonderfully cooked meal.’

My goal is to carry on the quality service my parents worked so hard to achieve. Our menu offers the same favorite foods my father created during his 40-plus years as a head chef, and our warm atmosphere welcomes guests just as it did decades ago.

Come join us! Take a drive out to the country for a relaxing evening with family, friends and, of course, very good food!
