The Watertown Players are pleased to announce auditions for Dear Camp written by Lisa MacDonald. The show will be performed at The Watertown Players Theater, 210 S Water St (in the Market), Watertown, on November 7 - 8, & 14 - 16. The show is being directed by Jim Steffl and produced by Elizabeth Boxell. Any questions regarding the audition or the show itself should be emailed to the director at jim@watertownplayers.org.
Auditions will be held at the theater on Saturday, September 20, from 9:00-11:00 am, and it is preferred that auditioners arrive at 8:45 and stay until dismissed. No prior acting experience is required. No special preparation is required and auditioners will be asked to read from the script. To sign up for auditions, please go to https://signup.com/go/sjJUgnY. Sign-up for auditions is not required, and walk-ins are encouraged! If you are unable to audition on September 20, please contact the director at the above email address to arrange a date and time before September 20.
There are roles for 6 adults —4 females and 2 males—ranging in age from 30-65. The ages are a guideline and will in no way influence decisions for the right people for the roles. Rehearsals will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings at the theater.
This will be the Wisconsin premiere of Dear Camp! The original story, written by Lisa MacDonald, is set in the remote white pine forests of northern Michigan. It follows Hildy, a grieving widow, and her sometimes contentious friends, as they gather in a secluded cabin. The group’s mission is to prepare the cabin for an imminent sale. However, their plans take an unexpected turn due to an overabundance of alcohol, a surprise blizzard, and the discovery of a personal diary belonging to Hildy’s late husband. The mystery deepens as the diary reveals a long-hidden secret: a relationship with someone named Cupcake.
There is always something happening at the theater! The comedy Rumors by Neil Simon will be performing on September 19-20 and 26-28. Tickets are on sale. For further information about the group, please contact the Watertown Players at (920)306-4364 or follow the Watertown Players on Facebook.
