Tickets on sale and cast announced for A Christmas Carol Staged Radio Play!

 

The Watertown Players will take to the stage one weekend only to present the Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol, which was adapted for the radio by the great Orson Welles for the Campbell Playhouse series in 1938. This Watertown Players’ production is being staged in the style of an old-time radio broadcast. Advance tickets are on sale now and can be purchased for $15 at Piggly Wiggly, 1330 Memorial Dr., Watertown, or by calling the box office at 920-306-4364. Tickets will be available at the door for $20 until the house is sold out. The show will be performed at The Watertown Players Theater, 210 S Water St (in the Market), Watertown, on December 12 and 13 at 7:00 pm and on December 13 and 14 at 2:00 pm.

 

A Christmas Carol staged radio play tells the familiar story of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge as he is visited by three spirits on Christmas Eve. These spectral visitors take him on an ethereal journey, showing him the joys and sorrows of his life and the lives of others, leading to his eventual redemption and transformation into a kinder and more generous man on Christmas Day. The Watertown Players have added a unique twist to this production with a chance for our audience members to win prizes by participating in A Christmas Carol trivia segment!

 

The impressive cast consists of: Connie Casey as Mrs. Cratchit, Catherine Guthrie as ensemble, Adam Iverson as Ebenezer Scrooge, Kara Jorgensen as Martha Cratchit, Kat Jorgensen as Belle, Robert Koepcke as Radio Announcer, Blaine Landowski as Bob Cratchit, Dietrich Landowkski as Tiny Tim, Eliam Landowski as ensemble, Jennie Ortega as Narrator, Jim Steffl as Ghost of Christmas Present, Leah Watson as Ghost of Christmas Past, and Kevin Zimdars as Fezziwig. Many of these talented performers are playing multiple roles. The show is under the direction of Lisa Steffl. Jeff Boyce is serving as stage manager & assistant director, Juanita Edington is serving as Producer, and Jim Steffl is Technical Director.

 

The Watertown Players is Watertown’s oldest theatre group and is proud to be a non-profit organization existing purely for the advancement of the arts in this and surrounding communities. Many productions are in the works including the 8X10-minute Play Festival which will be performed at The Watertown Players Theater January 16 and 17, 2026. Auditions for the play festival will be held Friday, Nov. 21. Auditions for the upcoming production of Don’t Hug Me, We’re Family will take place on January 3. And don’t forget the annual Octagon House Christmas play, presented by the Watertown Players, Nov. 29 & 30. Proceeds benefit the Watertown Historical Society.
