Auditions for Psych written by Lisa Rowe

The Watertown Players are pleased to announce auditions for Psych written by Lisa Rowe. The show is being produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company, Inc. of Woodstock, Illinois, and will be performed at The Watertown Players Theater, 210 S Water St (in the Market),

Watertown, on May 22-23 and May 29-31, 2026. The show is directed by Jennie Ortega. Any questions regarding the audition or the show itself should be emailed to Ortega at jennie.ortega65@gmail.com.

 

Auditions will be held at the theater on Saturday, March 28, from 9:00-11:00 am, and it is preferred that auditioners arrive at 8:45 and stay until dismissed. No prior acting experience is required, no special preparation is required and auditioners will be asked to read from the script. To sign up for auditions, please go to https://signup.com/go/ecujdRo. Signing up for auditions is not required, and walk-ins are encouraged! If you are unable to audition on March 28, please contact Ortega at the above email address to arrange an alternative date and time.

 

There are roles for six adults—2 females and 4 males—with no specific ages assigned. The playwright has alternative casting determined, so the final cast list will be based on the talent of those auditioning. Rehearsals will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings at the theater.

Psych is a fast-paced, dark comedy that features a psychiatrist and his twin brother, a Russian psychic, a neurotic patient, a detective, a pregnant wife, and a pizza delivery person. The play has an engaging plot and dramatic elements including farce, slapstick, and mystery around a chaotic web of lies, mistaken identities, and eccentric characters.

 

There is always something happening at the theater! Tickets are on sale now for the musical comedy Don’t Hug Me, We’re Family which is on March 13-15 and March 20-22. The Children’s Theatre Workshop will be performing Aesop’s Fables Oh So Slightly Updated on April 17, 18, and 19, and those tickets will be on sale soon. The Watertown Players is Watertown’s oldest theatre group and is proud to be a non-profit organization existing purely for the advancement of the arts in this and surrounding communities.
