pm. at the Watertown Players’ Theater, 210 S Water St (inside The Market), Watertown. Psych is
produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY, of Woodstock, Illinois.

Psych is a comedic farce featuring an ensemble of interesting characters. Edward Baxter was a successful
psychiatrist, beloved by his many patients—until he was framed for murder. Now on the run with an
assumed identity and a suspicious new wife, his luck is running out. Edward seeks help from Dr. Robert
Smith, a fellow psychiatrist and a man with his own mysterious past. The meeting between Edward and
Dr. Smith goes horribly awry, and Edward enlists the help of Lydia, a goodhearted psychic woman who
happens to show up for her appointment with Dr. Smith. Dr. Smith’s twin brother, Sam, bursts in looking
for his brother and along the way reveals his secret aversion to red-nosed circus performers which
Edward uses to his advantage. Irving, an actor turned detective, who was hired by Edward’s new wife,
Suzanne, enters to start his investigation of “Dr. Smith”. A gun-wielding gangster shows up looking for
Dr. Smith, and Edward’s wife makes an appearance to get a tour of her husband’s office. Finish it off
with an inebriated pizza delivery guy, and you have a play for those who appreciate chaotic, fast-moving
farce with a mix of the absurd.

The cast consists of Jake Retasket as Dr. Robert Smith/Sam Smith; Blaine Landowski as Edward; Diane
Schultz as Lydia; James Kuckkan as Irving; Joe Getty as Gangster; Ashley Woodard as Suzanne; and Kara
Jorgensen as the Pizza Guy. Jennie Ortega is the Director, Kara Jorgensen is Stage Manager, and Jim
Steffl is serving as Technical Director for the production.

There is always something going on at The Watertown Players Theater. Auditions for this season’s final
show, Our Town, will be held on June 12 with performances taking place in August. Keep following our
