Civil Air Patrol, the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, gives both youth and adults opportunities to serve their communities while developing practical skills and leadership experience. Our members participate in community service activities, support emergency services and preparedness, and take part in local events throughout the Watertown area.

 

Our cadet program is currently rebuilding after many of our longtime cadets moved on to college or military service. We’re proud to be growing again and are now 10 cadets strong, with new members learning leadership, aerospace education, emergency services, communications, drill and ceremonies, and character development, while also building confidence and learning how to work as part of a team. Many of these experiences give young people exposure to skills and opportunities they may not encounter anywhere else.

 

We’d love to introduce more of the community to what we do. The Watertown Composite Squadron will host an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Watertown Library, 100 S. Water St.  We’ll have information tables set up, and our cadets and senior members will be available to answer questions and talk about Cadet Programs, Aerospace Education, Emergency Services, volunteer opportunities, and how Civil Air Patrol serves our community.
