The Downtown Watertown Wine Walk is coming to downtown Watertown on
Thursday, September 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Join us in Watertown and enjoy sampling wines at 12 locations.
During the Wine Walk, Watertown’s downtown businesses become "tasting rooms" where attendees may sample up to 24 different wines throughout the evening. The Wine Walk will include local artists at each location, so participants will have a chance to find fabulous art while strolling downtown. Wristbands for the event are $25 and are available online beginning August 1. Your ticket includes the wine tasting event plus 2 complimentary raffle tickets with the opportunity to purchase more.
After you check in at the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce office, 519 E Main Street, you are free to walk Main Street sampling wine and enjoying suggested food pairings, browsing our businesses and spending time with friends and meeting new people. Information about the wine you taste will be provided at each location.
On September 14, bring your printed receipt from your online purchase to the chamber building. At that time, your ID will be checked, (please bring identifications to verify you are of legal drinking age; refunds will not be given if someone does not have proof of age) and you will receive your map of participating businesses, your wristband and raffle tickets. Raffle winners will be notified via phone on the Monday after the event.
Did you know that every year Watertown welcomes approximately 45 new teachers into our schools? On August 24, 2017, you could have the opportunity to welcome each of these new teachers to our community. Each year the Commerce and Education Partnership Committee holds a New Teacher Breakfast to try to make these very important people feel welcome. The event serves as a kick-off to the upcoming school year and has been very well received over the years. We begin the event with a wonderful breakfast served at the Maranatha Baptist University. We then allow each of our event sponsors to personally welcome the teachers and tell them a little bit about their business. We cap-off the morning with a gift bag full of goodies provided to each of our honored guests.
This event is made possible through the support of the Chamber membership. There are two ways you can help with this event. The first is to become a corporate sponsor. This sponsorship allows us to provide the breakfast to all new teachers free of charge. A representative from your company will be invited to join us for breakfast and personally welcome the teachers. They will also have the opportunity to speak briefly about their business.
The second way to support this event is to donate items for the gift bags. Over the years, our sponsors have donated wonderful items to be included in the welcome bags including, pens, mugs, t-shirts, coupons, lunch bags, stress balls, and chocolate, just to name a few.
If anyone would like to become a corporate sponsor or has items they would be willing to donate, please contact Barb Krueger at 261-6320 or at barb@watertownchamber.com.
We are excited to announce our Digital Media Workshop Series in partnership with the Digital Media Lab. The Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce is offering such an informative series for FREE to our chamber members. It's our way of adding value to your membership.
* All attendees of the Digital Insights Seminar will receive a FREE Digital Audit Report. The Digital Audit Report is an assessment of the online visibility of your business. The report measures the accuracy and "findability" of your website, social media and business listings with helpful tips for improvement.

It's that time of year to order instruments and go to band or orchestra camps.
I personally just signed my daughter up for a lease on a Violin.
Let's hope she makes it a full year.
