Dear Chamber Members, We are sending out this week's newsletter a day early to share an important message from our mayor. "The city of Watertown will be observing a city wide moment of silence on 9/11 at 9:28 AM CST; the time the North Tower fell (10:28 EST). The Mayor invites all city residents and businesses to pause operations and observe the moment of silence in recognition of the first responders, victims, and families that are forever effected by this tragic moment in our history. Watertown Police Chief Kaminski and Fire Chief Biefeld will be reading a short statement; those interested in viewing it are invited to watch the city’s Facebook live video at that time. Area churches are invited to toll their church bells at 9:28 AM. City Hall will also be illuminated red, white and blue on the night of Sept 10th, and the early morning of Sept 11th. Please share this information with your family, friends, churches, places of employment, etc." Emily McFarland |
