Steve Board
Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors – 2015
Chamber Board Chairperson - January 2022
After graduating with a degree in architecture from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI, I pursued a career centered on design and construction. Much of my life was spent in Michigan, with work experiences including establishing and operating my own architectural design firm, facility management with a Fortune 500 company, management of two small businesses, and sales and marketing for a large national construction services company.
In October 2001 we relocated to Atlanta, GA to assist two brothers in the successful start-up of a Minority Business Enterprise. My experience with Maranatha Baptist University began in December 2001, when I was appointed a trustee of the University. Our three children, Stefanie, Bryan, and Alex are all graduates of MBU. In January 2012 we moved to Watertown to become a business faculty member, assuming my current position, the Director of Development, in June 2012. I also serve on the Leadership Council and the Scholarship and Building Committees at the University, while also directing the university’s Leadership Breakfast Series. In 2015 I was selected by the students as “Staff Member of the Year.”
Having lived most of our lives in large metropolitan areas, our family was excited about living in the city of Watertown. We have found the community to be family friendly and historic, and we are thrilled with the potential we see here in Watertown.
Presently I am the chair of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Watertown Historical Society, Chair of the city of Watertown Historic Preservation and Downtown Design Commission, a member of the Watertown Airport Commission, serve on the city of Watertown Main Street Task Force Committee and am an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.
My wife, Pat, and our dog, Cobe, live in the city of Watertown and enjoy the numerous parks, the friendly community, and the ability to walk the town. My non-business activities include working with youth (high school and college), golf, reading, the beach, and spending time with our seven (7) grandchildren. I remain a loyal Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and Pistons fan.
Watertown Regional Medical Center Welcomes New Board Members
Watertown Regional Medical Center is excited to welcome two community leaders, Dr. Brent Yaeggi and Tim Roets, to the Board of Trustees. In addition to these new board members, a new board chair, Kathy Wagner, and a new vice chair, Jason Polzin have been appointed.
The Board of Trustees at Watertown Regional Medical Center is comprised of local business leaders, physicians, community members, and hospital administrators. They provide a community perspective when decisions are made regarding care at the hospital.
“The board’s role is to make sure the community has access to the healthcare services they need while ensuring patients receive quality and safe care,” said Richard Keddington, CEO at Watertown Regional Medical Center. “As a result of these efforts, in 2021 Watertown Regional Medical Center became only the second hospital in the area to offer 24/7 heart attack care and earned a five-star rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.”
The newly appointed board members bring a wealth of experience and community leadership to the board of trustees. Their knowledge of Watertown and the surrounding communities will help the hospital achieve its mission of making communities healthier. Dr. Brent Yaeggi, WRMC’s Immediate Past Chief of Staff, is a Podiatrist at Rock River Foot & Ankle, which has an office located in the medical office building attached to the hospital. Tim Roets is a long-time Watertown resident and the former Chief of Police for the Watertown Police Department.
