Dear Chamber Members,
We were excited to be able to host a Career Exploration Day at Riverside Middle School this past week. We are thankful to the business leaders who set aside time that day to be a part of this event. The goal of this event is to reach the 7th grade class as they make plans for the career path and classes they will take as they approach high school. The Chamber started this expo in the fall of 2018, however with Covid had to step back from the event. We were excited to be able to bring this back for the class of 2027. The Chamber and staff at Riverside Middle School are already in the planning stages of a fall Career Exploration Day to capture the next 7th grade class. If your business is interested in being a part of the fall Career Exploration Day please contact me for more details. Recruiting a future workforce is number one priority for our member businesses. The ability to remain competitive or to expand in the future is dependent on the ability to retain a workforce.
We are also in full swing with the Community Celebration and Vendor Fair planned for Saturday, June 25th. If your business was interested in securing a booth space don't delay as we are only 13 booths from being sold out. Click here to sign up!
Our next bi-weekly newsletter will be sent out Wednesday, June 1st. During this time if your organization is hiring, offering programs, or have events to promote, please let us know so we can share with our membership and the community. Please send information by Friday, May 27th to info@watertownchamber.com.

Watertown Regional Medical Center Nationally Recognized with an ‘A’ Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade
Watertown, WI – Watertown Regional Medical Center once again received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for spring 2022, the sixth period in a row receiving an “A” grade. This national distinction recognizes Watertown Regional Medical Center’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital.
“I am proud of our associates for once-again earning an ‘A’ grade for providing safe and quality care,” said Richard Keddington, CEO of Watertown Regional Medical Center. “Continuing to receive an ‘A’ is a testament to the hard work being put in every day to create a place where the citizens of Watertown and the surrounding communities can count on for all of their healthcare needs.”
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“As our health care system continues to feel the strain of the pandemic, I thank the workforce and leadership of Watertown Regional Medical Center for their sustained commitment to patient safety, day in and day out,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “An ‘A’ Safety Grade is an outstanding achievement, and one that is not possible without a 24/7 effort by the entire health care workforce to protect patients from harm. This community should be proud.”
Leadership Watertown strives to develop a corps of informed, committed, and qualified individuals capable of and willing to provide dynamic leadership in the Watertown area.
