Watertown Regional Medical Center Upgrades MRI Technology
New Technology will improve patient experience and comfort and deliver a more consistent image quality.
Watertown, WI – Watertown Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the installation of a new MRI machine. The upgraded technology features improved processing speeds for less time on the table, a wider opening for increased patient comfort, and enhanced resolution for clearer and more consistent images.
An MRI is a medical imaging technique that uses a magnetic field to create detailed images of organs and tissues inside your body. Radiologists and other medical providers use MRI results to help diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of issues including joint problems, structural problems, abnormalities, and tumors.
“We’re excited about this new MRI and what it will offer Watertown and the surrounding communities,” said Dr. Jeff Van Beek, Radiologist and Medical Director of Diagnostic Services at Watertown Regional Medical Center. “The improved image quality is similar to the changes your TV or cell phone have gone through over the last 10 to 15 years. The enhanced resolution will improve our diagnostic abilities leading to a more accurate and efficient diagnosis and more precise treatment plan.”
The upgraded technology also allows for scans in certain areas of the body which the previous machine wasn’t capable of. One of the specialties that will benefit from this is Urology as patients will be able to stay right here in Watertown for a more seamless patient experience.
In addition to the technology upgrades, the new MRI machine features a wider opening that increases patient comfort, decreases claustrophobia, and accommodates patients of all shapes and sizes. Keeping more patients in Watertown and closer home for their healthcare.
“It is our goal to continue building a healthcare center the people of Watertown can be proud of,” said Richard Keddington, CEO of Watertown Regional Medical Center. “The recently upgraded MRI and the newly renovated Cath lab which opened earlier this year, give us the latest technology that helps us do just that.”
Watertown Regional Medical Center would like to thank their ownership partners ScionHealth and the Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation for approving and financing this project. Their partnership ensures people in Watertown have access to the latest technology for their healthcare.
MRI studies are ordered by all medical specialties, and Watertown Regional Medical Center is capable of imaging everything from the head and neck down to the feet and toes. Talk to your primary care or specialty care provider to see if an MRI at Watertown Regional Medical Center is right for you.
